Leeds Zine Fair 2012
Wharf Chambers, Sunday 4th November 2012
*Leeds Zine Fair now has it's own website with complete listings of stall holders adn events on the day: leedszinefair.footprinters.co.uk*
In November 2010 Footprint Workers' Co-op and friends organised the Leeds Zine Fair. We got some rooms at the Uni and had nearly fifty stalls of zinesters and radical campaigns.
We had zine readings, lots of cake and a bunch of workshops not only about producing zines but setting up workers cooperatives, guerilla gardening, and taking direct action. Because in the end the zine is a bold and blatant piece of DIY culture. Even when a particular zine is unpolitical, it’s still political in the way it takes control and doesn’t seek to maximise markets share or pander to advertisers.
If you'd like to get involved in organising the zine fair, or hold a stall at the zine fair then get in touch at footprint@footprinters.co.uk
